Appliance Turn-In Reward
For a limited time, the Village of Slinger Utilities is offering a $20 cash reward when you turn in old refrigerators, freezers and room air conditioners that are still in working order.
We'll even arrange pickup of your older appliances and cover those costs as well. Useful parts will be recycled and dangerous PCB's and ozone damaging CFC's will be recovered, so you can get rid of those unwanted appliances and be friendly to the environment at the same time.
Call the Appliance Turn-In Center at 1-800-922-3744 to schedule pick up. You will need to give them your name, address, phone number, utility account number and which appliance(s) you want picked up.
Slinger Utility Services/WPPI
Slinger Utilities is one of 37 municipalities that operate electric utilities through Wisconsin Public Power, Inc. (WPPI). These community owned utilities supply power to more than 110,000 homes and businesses throughout Wisconsin and purchase all of their electric requirements from WPPI.
WPPI was formed by its members to achieve - through joint action - economies of scale in the acquisition of electric power and related resources needed to provide their customers with safe, reliable and economic electric power and energy. Through WPPI, small municipal utilities are able to acquire power supply expertise and negotiating strength they would lack individually.
In 1989, the "members" signed long-term, all-requirements power supply contracts with WPPI to enable WPPI to acquire power supply resources. Because it is a political subdivision of the state, WPPI can issue tax-exempt bonds to finance projects. WPPI operates on a nonprofit basis, so the savings resulting from its operations are passed through to members and their retail customers.
